As part of the Eloise Garmendia Bieter Chair, the Basque Studies Program at Boise State University, in collaboration with the Etxepare Basque Institute, presents a special lecture by architect and designer Oihane Pardo Pérez.

In this engaging one-hour talk, Pardo Pérez will explore how a small cultural community like the Basque Country can achieve global resonance through design. Through her “Amarenak Method,” she will demonstrate how fashion can serve as a powerful framework for cultural activation — transforming heritage into contemporary expression and making identity both visible and economically viable.

Accessible to all audiences, this lecture invites attendees to reflect on how local traditions, creativity, and innovation can connect communities across borders and inspire global dialogue.
