Details

Introductory courses at the college level present opportunities for instructors to welcome students into the post-secondary level of their illustrious academic journey. The psychologies associated with this transition sometimes pose challenges to students' intent on being their best selves in introductory courses. For this reason, pedagogies at the introductory level need to pay particular attention to the ways in which students' mindsets can impact academic performance. In this workshop, we will discuss the details of the introductory process, the strategies needed to make it a successful experience, and suggestions for assessing the comprehensive approach to the course. THIS EVENT IS FOR INSTRUCTORS OF FIRST YEAR COURSES ONLY.
