Effective Program Assessment: Leveraging the Finishing Foundations Capstone Course (virtual)

Finishing Foundations (FF) courses provide students with a culminating experience that helps them integrate previous learning, demonstrate their growth, and reflect upon and apply a range of knowledge and skills they have accumulated throughout their time at Boise State. In FF courses, students also have the opportunity to demonstrate their achievement of the program’s (and university) critical inquiry and communication related learning outcomes. In this session, you’ll learn from and with other educators about ways to leverage the FF Capstone assignment to provide both course and program level assessment evidence. While anyone involved in a program’s PAR can participate, this session will be particularly relevant to instructors of FF courses. By the end of the session, you will be able to:
Describe examples of how programs are using the FF capstone assignment as a PAR measures
Articulate how the capstone assignment in your FF course could provide evidence of student achievement of your Program Learning Outcomes
