About:
When conducting research, it is essential to engage with the scholarly literature on your topic.
But it can be intimidating to get started! Where do you find scholarly articles? How can you understand them when you’re an undergraduate and new in the field? How do you incorporate them into your own research?

In this hands-on workshop, a Boise State librarian will teach you how to find, read and use scholarly articles for your research. You’ll be introduced to Albertsons Library resources, conduct searches on your topic, learn strategies to decipher academic writing, get tips on synthesizing sources, and try out citation tools.
Scholarly articles will no longer be intimidating! Instead, you’ll leave this workshop with the tools and strategies to become a confident and effective researcher.

Lizzy Borges is the Teaching and Learning Librarian at Boise State. She supports first year and lower division students in developing research and critical thinking skills.

Workshop will be followed by online social and drop-in advising hours from 1:15-2:15 p.m.
