About Nina Fiore

Hailing from the Bronx, NY, born to a Puerto Rican mother and a Sicilian father, Nina spent her childhood surrounded by an excess of personality leading her to find solace in writing and sports. Sports paid off early on, eventually leading to an athletic scholarship to Fordham University. After college, Nina worked as a set PA on various New York productions before moving to Los Angeles for a job as writers’ assistant on “The L Word.” There she met her writing partner, John Herrera.

Nina Fiore recently finished her sixth and final season as a writer/producer on the Emmy and WGA Award winning show “The Handmaid’s Tale” for Hulu/MGM with her writing partner, John Herrera. Previously they have been writer producers on “Eureka,” “Alphas,” “Blood Drive,” and “Nightflyers” for Syfy, “The Vampire Diaries” for CW, and “The Purge” for UCP, and developed and worked on other series at MGM, Netflix and Freeform/Disney. They are currently adapting the neo-western, "Heresy" with MGM, “M.” with Allen Media and adapting Joe Hill’s best-selling novel, "The Fireman" for Walden Media. On the feature side, they recently adapted the horror graphic novel, “The Hound” for Webtoons and are developing the award-winning novel “The Last Cuentista” for The Gotham Group. Alongside her writing career, Nina previously played on the US Women’s National Dodgeball Team, representing USA on the world’s stage, winning gold and bronzes medals. Recently retired from professional dodgeball, Nina currently coaches the US National Women’s team as they prepare for their World Championship in Thailand this December.
