Advocating for Your Career

Moving up is not always the easiest and it is rarely handed to you. Many times you have to advocate for yourself if you wish to get to the next level. Let’s talk about how you can leverage your skills and experiences to get yourself to where you want to be at the University. How do you navigate the promotion process? How do you even start that conversation with your supervisor? How do you navigate the bureaucracy, the politics and the different stakeholders involved? Having a plan and knowing where you want to be is an important part of leading your own growth in your career. In this workshop we’ll share some of our own experiences and go over tools and strategies you can use to build your career path at Boise State.
