Peer Navigator Program

The Peer Navigator Program connects commuter students with a personal peer mentor, support services, and campus professionals to help them thrive at Boise State. The goal is for students to feel supported and successful during their first semester and beyond. Participants are expected to meet with their Peer Navigator monthly in the fall and are encouraged to ask questions to make the most of the program. It's a great way to stay connected and get personalized guidance throughout your time at Boise State.

"I joined the Peer Navigator program because I was worried about feeling disconnected from the Boise State community. My orientation leader suggested the program, and once I learned she'd be my Peer Navigator, I was all in. The best part was gaining a mentor who guided me through the opportunities Boise State offers. As a first-generation and commuter student, the program helped me navigate college life, and my Peer Navigator encouraged me to get involved on campus, which made me feel like I truly belonged."

"When I chose to live off-campus, I was afraid of feeling disconnected. Joining the Peer Navigator program gave me a mentor who was there to help during my first semester, offering support and friendship. They checked in on me, even when I didn’t realize I needed it. The program also introduced me to campus events and resources, helping me feel more grounded. It gave me the confidence to ask questions and stay connected, even after the semester ended."

Commuter Support Resources

Commuter students and their supporters have a variety of ways to learn about support that exists on our campus.

The Peer Navigator program is primarily led by our team of Peer Navigators, past Orientation Leaders who ensure that students have a smooth and fulfilling transition to Boise State.
